Aerial Support Services
Aerial Support for Substation & Transmission Inspections
When ground access is limited or elevated components need a closer look, our drone-mounted thermal and visual imaging extends the reach of an Invizions inspection — always in support of our core substation and electrical thermography services, never as a standalone offering.
Drone-mounted thermal and visual cameras allow our thermographers to survey elevated transmission line connections, capture overhead views of large substation yards, and image equipment that cannot be safely accessed from ground level. This capability is deployed as part of a broader inspection engagement — not booked as a separate service.
Where Aerial Thermal Imaging Adds Value
- Substation yards — overhead thermal survey of bushings, switches, and bus work from outside the fence line
- Transmission-line connections — thermal imaging of elevated splices, insulators, and hardware that cannot be reached from the ground
- Confined or elevated equipment — components where ground-level access is limited or unsafe
Equipment & Delivery
Aerial imaging is performed using FLIR thermal cameras and standard visual sensors mounted on FAA-compliant drones, operated by certified pilots. Thermal and visual data are delivered as part of the standard inspection report alongside ground-based findings — georeferenced images with anomaly descriptions and severity ratings consistent with the rest of the survey.
Aerial Imaging as Part of Your Inspection
Aerial imaging is scheduled as part of our substation or electrical thermography engagements. Contact us to discuss your inspection needs.
