Keep Rotating Equipment Running — Expert Vibration Analysis

Vibration analysis identifies imbalances, misalignments, bearing wear, gearbox faults, and resonance in rotating machinery — before they escalate to unplanned downtime and costly emergency repairs.

About Vibration Testing & Analysis

Vibration analysis is a proven, non-destructive predictive maintenance method that measures and interprets the vibration signatures produced by rotating and reciprocating machinery. Every machine has a normal vibration profile; as components wear, loosen, or fall out of alignment, their vibration signature changes in characteristic ways that trained analysts and specialized software can identify.

Invizions uses state-of-the-art vibration data collection equipment operated by certified technicians. Our vibration analysts hold Vibration Institute certification — the only ANAB-accredited vibration analyst credential in the industry. Data is analyzed to ANSI and ISO vibration severity standards, providing accurate, actionable reports on the health of your rotating equipment. Findings are presented with clear severity ratings and prioritized maintenance recommendations.

Applications of Vibration Testing & Analysis

Vibration analysis is applicable wherever rotating or reciprocating machinery is found. Common applications include:

Motors

AC and DC motors, servo motors, variable-frequency drives. Detect rotor bar problems, stator eccentricity, bearing wear, and loose components.

Pumps

Centrifugal, positive displacement, and submersible pumps. Identify cavitation, impeller wear, misalignment, and bearing degradation before seal or shaft failure.

Gearboxes

Identify gear tooth wear, backlash, misalignment, bearing faults, and lubrication problems. Trend data over time to plan rebuild or replacement at the optimal interval.

Bearings

Track rolling element bearing wear from early-stage lubrication issues through advanced defect progression. Ultrasonic data can be combined with vibration for comprehensive bearing health monitoring.

Compressors & Fans

Detect blade pass imbalance, rotor looseness, bearing wear, misalignment, and resonance in air handling, refrigeration, and industrial fan/compressor systems.

New Equipment Verification

Commission new equipment by verifying installation quality: check foundation stability, shaft alignment, natural and resonant frequencies, and initial bearing condition before startup.

What Vibration Analysis Identifies

Rotor and component imbalance
Shaft misalignment (angular and parallel)
Bearing defects (inner race, outer race, rolling elements)
Gear mesh problems and tooth wear
Structural looseness and soft foot
Resonance and natural frequency issues
Belt and sheave problems
Cavitation (pumps)
Rotor bar and electrical defects (motors)
Coupling wear and looseness

Vibration Data Collection & Analysis

1

Data Collection

Certified technicians place calibrated accelerometers at defined measurement points on each asset. Both time-waveform and spectral (FFT) data are collected per ISO and ANSI standards.

2

Spectral Analysis

Raw vibration data is analyzed using spectrum analysis software to identify characteristic defect frequencies. Findings are compared against baseline data and severity standards.

3

Reporting & Recommendations

You receive a written report documenting each measurement point, severity rating, identified defect, and prioritized corrective action. Reports integrate into your NFPA 70B maintenance documentation.

Protect Your Critical Rotating Equipment
